Now hiring: we are hiring a brick mason in Johnson County, Indiana. The role involves: • Raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish • Forming arches, piers and reveals around openings • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod Requirements: • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage 3+ years on the tools preferred.
