Foundry operative — McDowell County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a foundry operative in McDowell County, West Virginia. You will work in the fettling and dressing shop. Day-to-day duties: • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture What we are looking for: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Basic grinding and fettling skills At least 1 year(s) in a similar role. Rotating shifts. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Walk-in interviews this week.
