Now hiring: we are hiring a machinist in Wukari, Taraba State. The job is in a textile and apparel unit. Day-to-day duties: • Match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching • Topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes • Set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers • Attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension Ideal candidate: • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory At least 4 year(s) in a similar role.
