Immediate opening: we are hiring a core maker in Barbour County, Alabama. The job is at a brass and bronze foundry. You should have: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection On the job you will handle: • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes Six days a week, one day off.
