Core maker — Adair County

Join our team: we are hiring a core maker in Adair County, Iowa. The job is in the fettling and dressing shop. The role involves: • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles Ideal candidate: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Part-time with flexible hours. $3,800 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
