Trainee butcher — Clay County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a trainee butcher in Clay County, Iowa. You will be based at an abattoir or slaughterhouse. What we are looking for: • Able to use a band saw, grinder and sausage filler • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required On a typical shift you will trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts; sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone; stuff and link fresh sausages with casings; portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights; vacuum-pack and wrap customer orders; take customer orders and advise on cuts and cooking. At least 6 year(s) in a similar role. Six days a week, one day off. On-the-job training and a clear path to grow. Pay around $3,800 per month, based on your experience. Contact us to fix an interview.
