Join our team: we are hiring a foundry worker in Chittenden County, Vermont. The job is at a busy iron foundry. You should have: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal The role involves: • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale 4+ years on the tools preferred. $3,000 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
