Requirements: • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard The role involves TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer; feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool; clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding; select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel; strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal.
