Sample machinist — Bibb County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a sample machinist in Bibb County, Georgia. You will be based at a busy garment factory. You will match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching; stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance; change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation; thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension; sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required; trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go. Requirements: • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory • Good eyesight and steady hands for fine, accurate stitching At least 5 year(s) in a similar role.
