Immediate opening: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Butler County, Kansas. The job is at a busy iron foundry. Day to day you will mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles. You should have: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection Part-time with flexible hours.
