Great opportunity: we are hiring a milling machine operator in Marion County, Kansas. The job is at a fabrication and machining plant. On a typical shift you will monitor tool wear and change blunt inserts and cutters; mount workpieces in machine vices, clamps and fixtures and check for square; carry out daily lubrication and routine machine maintenance; set up and operate vertical and horizontal milling machines; measure features with vernier callipers, micrometers and bore gauges. You should have: • Knows feeds, speeds and tooling for steel, aluminium and cast iron • Good eyesight and steady hands for close-tolerance work • Safety conscious and comfortable wearing PPE around moving machinery Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
