GTAW welder — Yancey County

Join our team: we are hiring a GTAW welder in Yancey County, North Carolina. You will work at an automotive body and exhaust shop. What we are looking for: • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Able to pass a weld test on the spot • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols Day-to-day duties: • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer • Select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size Performance bonus on top of base pay.
