Great opportunity: we are hiring a heavy equipment operator in Turner County, South Dakota. The job is at a road-building project. The role involves keep the cab clean and complete the daily machine logbook; keep a safe distance from excavation edges and overhead lines; work in coordination with the banksman and ground crew on signals; break rock and concrete with the hydraulic breaker attachment; level and grade the road sub-base to the surveyor's pegs and string lines; carry out daily pre-start checks on engine oil, coolant, hydraulic fluid and track tension. Ideal candidate: • Able to read levels, pegs and basic site drawings • Knowledge of pre-start inspections and basic machine maintenance Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
