Vacancy available: we are hiring a brick mason in Kankakee County, Illinois. You will work on a new-build development. Day to day you will mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser; installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays; building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation; checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod; pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints; raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish. Ideal candidate: • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks • CSCS card or willingness to obtain one • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. $3,200 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Meals and transport allowance provided. Full-time, day shift. Walk-in interviews this week.
