Brick and block layer — Sumner County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a brick and block layer in Sumner County, Kansas. You will be based at a groundworks and structures site. Your main tasks: • Setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Bedding in air bricks, weep holes and wall starters • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation You should have: • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage $5,400 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Full-time with occasional weekends. Walk-in interviews this week.
