Now hiring: we are hiring a foundry operative in Keokuk County, Iowa. The job is at an aluminium die-casting plant. Day-to-day duties: • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities What we are looking for: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough. $2,700 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
