Great opportunity: we are hiring a butcher in Girei, Adamawa State. You will be based in a hotel or restaurant butchery. Day-to-day duties: • Keep HACCP hygiene records and sanitise the block and tools • Take customer orders and advise on cuts and cooking • Portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights • Stuff and link fresh sausages with casings • Break down beef, mutton and chicken carcasses into primal cuts • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone Ideal candidate: • Able to use a band saw, grinder and sausage filler • Clean, presentable and friendly at the counter • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
