We are recruiting: we are hiring a lifting rigger in Saline County, Illinois. You will work on an offshore oil and gas platform. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles • Confident with standard crane hand signals • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles Day to day you will attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks; rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position; take part in toolbox talks and pre-lift briefings; select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight; establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area; calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift.
