Argon arc welder — Tuscola County

Vacancy available: we are hiring an argon arc welder in Tuscola County, Michigan. You will work in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. You will read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing; strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal; clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding; set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks; tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run. Requirements: • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • Able to pass a weld test on the spot Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough. $26 per hour, negotiable for the right hands.
