Immediate opening: we are hiring a moulder in Greene County, Iowa. The job is at a busy iron foundry. What we are looking for: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal The role involves: • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture $3,300 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
