Foundry operative • Steuben County, New York

Great opportunity: we are hiring a foundry operative in Steuben County, New York. You will be based in a non-ferrous casting shop. On the job you will handle: • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together You should have: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal At least 3 year(s) in a similar role.
