Furnace operator — Howard County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a furnace operator in Howard County, Indiana. You will work in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Requirements: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection Your main tasks: • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
