Now hiring: we are hiring a furnace operator in Sullivan County, New York. On the job you will handle: • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity You should have: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings $21 per hour, negotiable for the right hands.
