Now hiring: we are hiring a lifting rigger in Eaton County, Michigan. Ideal candidate: • Proven experience as a rigger on construction or industrial sites • Ability to read lift plans and rigging diagrams • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles The role involves: • Rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position • Check sling angles to stay within the working load limit • Set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads • Calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift • Inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use • Select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
