Backhoe loader operator — Los Alamos County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a backhoe loader operator in Los Alamos County, New Mexico. You will be based at a landfill site. You will top up diesel, inspect hydraulic hoses for leaks and report defects; load trucks with spoil, aggregate and overburden using the bucket; stockpile and spread material to the required levels; read site drawings and follow the batter and slope profiles; grease the pins, bushings and slew ring at the start of each shift; work in coordination with the banksman and ground crew on signals. Ideal candidate: • Valid heavy equipment / plant operator licence • Awareness of site safety, PPE and lifting procedures • Able to operate excavator, loader and dozer confidently 4+ years on the tools preferred.
