Blocklayer — Allegany County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a blocklayer in Allegany County, Maryland. The job is at a groundworks and structures site. The role involves: • Building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses • Erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go What we are looking for: • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) At least 5 year(s) in a similar role.
