Foundry labourer — Wilcox County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a foundry labourer in Wilcox County, Alabama. You will work in the fettling and dressing shop. The role involves check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle. What we are looking for: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts At least 4 year(s) in a similar role.
