Immediate opening: we are hiring a bar bender and fixer in Jefferson County, Alabama. The job is at a precast concrete yard. The role involves lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors; read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules; fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings; keep the rebar stacked, tagged and free of mud and loose rust; tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers. Requirements: • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing • Willing to work outdoors in all weather and to tight pour dates We offer $3,000 per month plus benefits.
