Argon welding operator — Madison County

We are recruiting: we are hiring an argon welding operator in Madison County, Nebraska. Day-to-day duties: • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks • Select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel • Tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run • Inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool You should have: • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Able to pass a weld test on the spot • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection $3,200 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Meals and transport allowance provided. Full-time, day shift. Walk-in interviews this week.
