Gas meter installer — Guthrie County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a gas meter installer in Guthrie County, Iowa. You will be based at a boiler and appliance service centre. Requirements: • Able to read isometric and site drawings • Physically fit for lifting pipe, meters and cylinders • Valid gas fitter's licence and Gas Safe (or local) registration Your main tasks: • Run polyethylene (PE) service pipe and electrofusion-weld the joints • Check every joint for leaks with soapy water and leak-detection spray • Locate and repair gas leaks and replace corroded pipe sections • Install flue and chimney terminals and check for adequate ventilation • Install gas meters, regulators and isolation valves • Fit flexible connection hoses and bayonet fittings to the appliances Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
