Immediate opening: sand plant operator (Oregon)

Great opportunity: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Columbia County, Oregon. You will check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity. Requirements: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings At least 3 year(s) in a similar role.
