Immediate opening: blocklayer (New York)

Join our team: we are hiring a blocklayer in Jefferson County, New York. You will be based at a residential building site. The role involves: • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel • Installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays • Forming arches, piers and reveals around openings • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod • Building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder You should have: • Own trowel, spirit level and basic hand tools • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding 3+ years on the tools preferred. Part-time with flexible hours. Overtime paid at a premium rate. We offer $22 per hour plus benefits. Walk-in interviews this week.
