Core maker • Devon, England

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a core maker in Devon, England. You will work on the moulding line. The role involves: • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects You should have: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings Full-time, day shift.
