We are recruiting: single needle operator (Alaska)

We are recruiting: we are hiring a single needle operator in Sitka City and Borough, Alaska. You will be based on a ready-made garment production line. The role involves: • Match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching • Stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance • Trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go • Sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required • Clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift What we are looking for: • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams 4+ years on the tools preferred. Six days a week, one day off. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Contact us to fix an interview.
