On a typical shift you will greet guests, seat them and present the menu; polish glasses, cutlery and crockery during mise en place; take food and drink orders on the POS terminal or order pad; handle guest complaints and escalate to the captain or manager; upsell starters, desserts and beverages; coordinate order timing with the kitchen and the bar.
