Argon welding operator • Bedford, England

Urgent requirement: we are hiring an argon welding operator in Bedford, England. The job is at a busy fabrication workshop. The role involves TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer; weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through; run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec; inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut; feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool; read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing. Requirements: • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination Six days a week, one day off. Performance bonus on top of base pay. £2,350 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
