Foundry operative • Lawrence County, Alabama

We are recruiting: we are hiring a foundry operative in Lawrence County, Alabama. You will maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects. Ideal candidate: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings At least 6 year(s) in a similar role. Rotating shifts.
