Blocklayer — Maigatari

Great opportunity: we are hiring a blocklayer in Maigatari, Jigawa State. The job is on a new-build development. You should have: • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks • Own trowel, spirit level and basic hand tools The role involves: • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Forming arches, piers and reveals around openings Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
