Stitching operator • Cornwall, England

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a stitching operator in Cornwall, England. You will be based at a knitwear stitching unit. Day to day you will clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift; operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line; press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges; change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation; meet the hourly piece-rate target without dropping quality. What we are looking for: • Good eyesight and steady hands for fine, accurate stitching • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory At least 6 year(s) in a similar role. We offer £17 per hour plus benefits. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
