Immediate opening: slinger signaller (Texas)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a slinger signaller in Kenedy County, Texas. You will work on an offshore oil and gas platform. On the job you will handle: • Inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use • Check sling angles to stay within the working load limit • Calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift • Direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio • Establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area • Read lift plans and method statements before starting Requirements: • Sharp eye for safety and hazard awareness • Willing to work shifts, weekends and outdoors in all weather • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear Pay around $2,250 per project, based on your experience.
