Join our team: sewing machine operator (Virginia)

Great opportunity: we are hiring a sewing machine operator in City of Chesapeake, Virginia. You will work at a knitwear stitching unit. Day-to-day duties: • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required • Match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching • Operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes What we are looking for: • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines • Comfortable working long hours seated at a fast line Performance bonus on top of base pay. Full-time, day shift. Walk-in interviews this week.
