Blocklayer — Kokona

Immediate opening: we are hiring a blocklayer in Kokona, Nasarawa State. You will work on a new-build development. Your main tasks: • Forming arches, piers and reveals around openings • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints Requirements: • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding Part-time with flexible hours.
