Now hiring: crane rigger (Wales)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a crane rigger in Sir Powys, Wales. You will be based on an offshore oil and gas platform. On a typical shift you will carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle; establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area; guide loads through tight openings into their final position; calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift; set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads; rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position. What we are looking for: • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear • Valid rigging / lifting certificate or banksman-slinger ticket At least 2 year(s) in a similar role. £2,500 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
