Sand plant operator — Macon County

Join our team: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Macon County, North Carolina. The job is at a busy iron foundry. Requirements: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry On a typical shift you will tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles. Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Meals and transport allowance provided. Full-time with occasional weekends. Share your details and we will call you back.
