Blocklayer — Scott County

Now hiring: we are hiring a blocklayer in Scott County, Virginia. Requirements: • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding The role involves brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go; buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge; pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints; forming arches, piers and reveals around openings; raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish; building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation.
