Gas meter installer — Day County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a gas meter installer in Day County, South Dakota. You will be based at a busy gas installation company. On the job you will handle: • Fix pipe clips, brackets and wall sleeves and sleeve pipe through walls • Braze copper gas lines and weld carbon-steel pipe joints • Carry out tightness (pressure) tests with a manometer and lock off the supply • Locate and repair gas leaks and replace corroded pipe sections • Run polyethylene (PE) service pipe and electrofusion-weld the joints • Purge air from the lines and commission appliances to the correct gas rate Requirements: • Physically fit for lifting pipe, meters and cylinders • Able to read isometric and site drawings • Sound knowledge of gas safety regulations and pressure testing Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
