Sand plant operator — Neosho County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Neosho County, Kansas. What we are looking for: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor On the job you will handle: • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. $4,700 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
