Trainee butcher — Mason County

Now hiring: we are hiring a trainee butcher in Mason County, Kentucky. You will be based at an abattoir or slaughterhouse. The role involves portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights; trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts; keep halal cuts separated and clearly handled; sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone; stuff and link fresh sausages with casings; keep HACCP hygiene records and sanitise the block and tools. What we are looking for: • Able to use a band saw, grinder and sausage filler • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required Full-time, day shift. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Walk-in interviews this week.
