Precision welder — Jeff Davis County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a precision welder in Jeff Davis County, Georgia. The job is at a busy sheet-metal workshop. Day-to-day duties: • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run • Weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper Ideal candidate: • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection Pay around $3,100 per month, based on your experience.
