Immediate opening: we are hiring a sheet metal welder in McHenry County, Illinois. Day to day you will TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer; clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush; weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec. What we are looking for: • 2+ years' hands-on experience with argon/TIG welding • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection Rotating shifts.
